El Plan de Salvación

Estamos tristes aquí, pero en otro lugar están regocijando que ella ha regresado.

Es como enviar a un hijo a estudiar afuera o a la misión.  Estamos tristes al despedirlos y felices a recibirlos de nuevo.  Ella ahora está con sus padres y el resto de su familia que ya ha pasado de este vida. Y están felices.

Somos seres humanos y tenemos cuerpos físicos y cuerpos espirituales.  Aún cuando el cuerpo físico de la hermana está muerto, el espiritual sigue viviendo. 

Me gustan las palabras del Elder Bruce Hafen:  Esta tierra no es nuestro hogar; sino que estamos en una escuela intentando dominar las lecciones del ´´gran plan de felicidad ´´ para regresar a casa y saber lo que significa estar allí.

Leemos en la proclamación..

EN EL MUNDO PREMORTAL, hijos e hijas, procreados como espíritus, conocieron a Dios y lo adoraron como su Padre Eterno, y aceptaron Su plan por medio del cual Sus hijos podrían obtener un cuerpo físico y ganar experiencia terrenal para progresar hacia la perfección y finalmente lograr su destino divino como herederos de la vida eterna. El divino plan de felicidad permite que las relaciones familiares se perpetúen más allá del sepulcro. Las ordenanzas y los convenios sagrados disponibles en los santos templos hacen posible que las personas regresen a la presencia de Dios y que las familias sean unidas eternamente. (La Familia: Una Proclamación para el Mundo, p 3)

Le Hermana Winder entendía estas verdades.  Como han escrito su familia,

Su enseñanza repetida de estar cerca uno del otro es el sello distintivo de su legado.

Sabemos que habrá una resurrección debido a la resurrección de Jesucristo.

Las escrituras nos dicen:  Ahora bien, hay una muerte que se llama la muerte temporal; y la muerte de Cristo desatará las ligaduras de esta muerte temporal, de modo que todos se levantarán de esta muerte.

El espíritu y el cuerpo serán reunidos otra vez en su perfecta forma; los miembros así como las coyunturas serán restaurados a su propia forma, tal como nos hallamos ahora...(Alma 11:42, 43)

Entonces, por medio de la expiación de Jesucristo vamos a superar la muerte física.  También, el Padre sabía que íbamos a equivocar a veces.  No somos perfectos.  Tenemos pecados.  El proporcionó los medios por los cuales podemos también superar la muerte espiritual ...por medio del sacrificio de Jesucristo.

El profeta Alma nos dijo

Pero Dios llamó a los hombres, en el nombre de su Hijo (pues este era el plan de redención que se estableció), diciendo: Si os arrepentís, y no endurecéis vuestros corazones, entonces tendré misericordia de vosotros por medio de mi Hijo Unigénito;

por tanto, el que se arrepienta, y no endurezca su corazón, tendrá derecho a reclamar la misericordia, por medio de mi Hijo Unigénito, para la remisión de sus pecados; y ellos entrarán en mi descanso. (Alma 12: 33,34)

Así tenemos la bendición de tener la oportunidad de vivir otra vez con un cuerpo que es perfecto físicamente y que es limpio de pecado.

Aún mas, Dios ha proporcionado los medios de vivir juntos con nuestras familias después de esta vida.  El nos ha dado el poder de sellar en los cielos, lo que, por su autoridad divina ha sido sellado aquí en esta tierra.  Mediante el sacerdocio, dado al hombre en ésta época, la familia Winder ha sido sellado en el templo por ésta autoridad y estarán juntos en la vida eterna. 

Por eso, estamos tristes, en luto, de haber perdido a la Hermana Winder por un tiempo. Pero también podemos regocijar en el gran plan de dios que nos permitirá reunir otra vez.

Yo les testifico que Dios vive.  Que por medio de Jesucristo nos resucitaremos y podemos llegar a ser limpios ante Dios.  Que el poder y la autoridad de sellar juntos a familias ha sido restaurado en éstos días.

Les dejo esto en el nombre de Jesucristo. Amén.

The Plan of salvation

We are saddened here, but elsewhere they are rejoicing that she has returned. It is like sending a child away to study to the mission field.  We are saddened when they leave and happy to welcome them home again. She is now with her parents and the rest of her family, which has already passed from this life. And they are happy.

We are human beings and have physical bodies and spiritual bodies.  Even though the physical body of Sister Winder is dead, the spiritual body remains alive.

This earth is not our home.  We are away at school, trying to master the lessons of the great plan of happiness so we can return home and know what it means to be there. (Elder Bruce Hafen)

We read in the Proclamation on the family:

IN THE PREMORTAL REALM, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshipped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize their divine destiny as heirs of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.

Sister Winder understood these Truths. As her family has written, "Her repeated instructions to be close to each other is the hallmark of her legacy."  We know that there will be a resurrection because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us:

42 Now, there is a death which is called a temporal death; and the death of Christ shall loose the bands of this temporal death, that all shall be raised from this temporal death.

43 The spirit and the body shall be reunited again in its perfect form; both limb and joint shall be restored to its proper frame, even as we now are at this time; and we shall be brought to stand before God, knowing even as we know now, and have a bright recollection of all our guilt.

...(Alma 11:42, 43)

Therfore, through the atonement of Jesus Christ we are going to overcome physical death. Also, the father knew that we would make mistakes. We are not perfect. We have sins. He provided the means by which we can also overcome the spiritual death.. .through of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Prophet Alma said unto us:

33 But God did call on men, in the name of his Son, (this being the plan of redemption which was laid) saying: If ye will repent, and harden not your hearts, then will I have mercy upon you, through mine Only Begotten Son;

34 Therefore, whosoever repenteth, and hardeneth not his heart, he shall have claim on mercy through mine Only Begotten Son, unto a remission of his sins; and these shall enter into my rest. (Alma 12: 33,34)

Thus we have the blessing of the opportunity to live again with a body that is physically perfect and that is cleansed of sin. Moreover, God has provided the means of living together with our families after this life. He has given us the power to have sealed in the heavens, that which, by his divine authority was sealed here on this earth.

Through the priesthood, given to man in these latter days, the family Winder has been sealed in the temple by this authority and they will be together in eternal life.

For this reason, we are sad, in mourning, having lost Sister Winder sister for awhile. But we can also rejoice in the great plan of God that will allow us to meet again.

I testify to you that God lives. Through Jesus Christ we will rise again and we can be clean before God.

The power and the authority to seal together families restored in these latter days.

I leave this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have you ever asked yourself, “Can I do everything the Lord expects me to do?”

Can I pray by myself and with my family every day?

Can I read the scriptures every day?

Can I have family home evening each week?

Can I fulfill the calling that I have?

Can I visit the families that have been assigned to me?

Can I keep all of the commandments?

Can I go to church every Sunday and renew the covenants that I’ve made with the Lord?

Can I live without Alcohol, tobacco, coffee and tea?

Can I live the law of Chastity?

Can I pay a full tithing and still pay my monthly bills?

Can I attend the temple every week, every month, every now and then?

Can I love others?

Can I share the gospel with my family and neighbors and freinds?

I want to tell you that Yes, you can do everything the Lord has asked you to do.

As the Apostle Paul wrote, “I can do all things through Christ that strengtheneth me.”

Sometimes it appears to us that the Lord expect too much from us and that we can’t do it all.  This has happened to me.  One time, my priesthood leader extended a calling that I didn’t think I had the capacity to fulfill.  But, having learned the words of Nephi when his father told him that he and his brothers were commanded to return to Jerusalem to retrieve the plates of brass. “And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.” (1 Nephi 3:7)  Then I knew that the Lord would also help me with this calling that I was to receive, and so I accepted it.

He knows that we’re not perfect and has given us the atonement to give us strength so that we can repent, and so that we know that He knows all of the thoughts of our hearts and the unworthiness that sometimes we feel.

To the members of the early church at the beginning of this dispensation the Lord said, “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye are little children, and ye have not as yet understood how great blessings the Father hath in his own hands and prepared for you;

 And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours.”(D&C 78:17-18)

Elder Holland spoke on this subject in the last general conference.  He said, ‘My brothers and sisters, except for Jesus, there have been no flawless performances on this earthly journey we are pursuing, so while in mortality let’s strive for steady improvement without obsessing over what behavioral scientists call “toxic perfectionism.  ”We should avoid that latter excessive expectation of ourselves and of others…

At times it seems hard to do what the Lord has asked.  But, sometimes, hard is good.  Elder Ellis told us, “The hard things in our lives should come as no surprise. One of the earliest covenants we make with the Lord is to live the law of sacrifice. Sacrifice, by definition, involves giving up something desirable. With experience we realize it is a small price to pay in relation to the blessings that follow. Under the direction of Joseph Smith, it was said that “a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation.”

Hard makes us stronger, humbles us, and gives us a chance to prove ourselves. … Regardless of the issue, hard can be good for those who will move forward with faith and trust the Lord and His plan.”

When we don’t accept what the Lord has asked, we’re not on His side.  Elder John Pingree said, “In addition, Satan discourages us with feelings of inadequacy. He makes our work appear too difficult or intimidating. However, we can trust God! He loves us. He wants us to succeed. He “doth go before [us]; he will be with [us], he will not fail [us]”

 I know that you will receive blessings of the Lord for all of your efforts.  He has blessed us so much already.  But we should always remember that “For unto him that much is given, much is required.” (D&C 82:3)

I testify to you that you can do whatever the Lord asks you to do. He asks that we try and put forth an effort.  That we might serve him with our might.  I know that we can do everything through Jesus Christ.  He will support us.  I leave you these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

¿Puedo Hacerlo?

Jamás se ha preguntado a si mismo ¨¿Puedo Hacer todo lo que el Señor espera que haga?¨

¿Puedo hacer oraciones solo y con mi familia todos los días?

¿Puedo leer las escrituras todos los días?

¿Puedo tener una noche de hogar todas las semanas?

¿Puedo cumplir con el llamamiento que tengo?

¿Puedo visitar a las familias que me han asignado?

¿Puedo guardar todos los mandamientos?

¿Puedo asistir la capilla todos los domingos y renovar los convenios que he hecho con el Señor?

¿Puedo vivir sin alcohol, la café y la té?

¿Puedo vivir la ley de castidad?

¿Puedo pagar un diezmo íntegro y también pagar mis gastos necesarios?

¿Puedo asistir al templo cada semana, o cada mes, o de vez en cuado?

¿Puedo amar a los demás?

¿Puedo compartir el evangelio con mis familiares y vecinos y amigos?

Quiero decirles, que ¨si¨ pueden hacer todo lo que el Señor le a pedido hacer.

Como dijo el apóstol Paulo, ¨Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece.¨ Fel 4:13 

A veces nos parece que el Señor espera demasiado de nosotros y no podemos hacerlo.  A mi éste ha pasado.  Una vez, mi líder del sacerdocio me dió un llamamiento que no pensaba que podía cumplir.  Pero había aprendido las palabras de Nefi, cuando su padre dijo que el y sus hermanos fueron dado el mandamiento a regresar a Jerusalén pare conseguir las planches de bronce.  Y sucedió que yo, Nefi, dije a mi padre: Iré y haré lo que el Señor ha mandado, porque sé que él nunca da mandamientos a los hijos de los hombres sin prepararles una vía para que cumplan lo que les ha mandado. 1 Nef 3:7 Entonces, yo sabía que el Señor me ayudaría también a cumplir con el llamamiento que había recibido y lo acepté.

El sabe que no somos perfectos y ha dado la expiación para nosotros para darnos fuerza, para que podemos arrepentirnos, y para que sepamos que el conoce todo los pensamientos de nuestros corazones, y la indignidad que a veces sentimos.

A los miembros de la iglesia en los principios de ésta dispensación el Señor dijo,  De cierto, de cierto os digo, sois niños pequeños, y todavía no habéis entendido cuán grandes bendiciones el Padre tiene en sus propias manos y ha preparado para vosotros;

y no podéis sobrellevar ahora todas las cosas; no obstante, sed de buen ánimo, porque yo os guiaré. De vosotros son el reino y sus bendiciones, y las riquezas de la eternidad son vuestras DYC 78:17-18.

El élder Holland habló de éste asunto en la conferencia pasada.  No dijo, ´Mis hermanos y hermanas, con la excepción de Jesucristo, no ha habido comportamientos perfectos en este viaje terrenal en el que estamos embarcados; así que, mientras estemos en la tierra procuremos mejorar de forma continua sin obsesionarnos con lo que los científicos de la conducta llaman el “perfeccionismo tóxico”12. Debemos evitar tener esas expectativas excesivas de nosotros y de los demás... ¨

A veces nos parece difícil hacer todo lo que el Señor no ha pedido.  Pero, a veces, lo difícil es bueno.  El élder Ellis nos dijo, ¨Las cosas difíciles en nuestra vida no deberían sorprendernos. Uno de los primeros convenios que hacemos con el Señor es vivir la ley de sacrificio. El sacrificio, por definición, implica renunciar a algo deseable. Mediante la experiencia, nos damos cuenta de que es un pequeño precio que debemos pagar en relación con las bendiciones que siguen a continuación. Bajo la dirección de José Smith, se dijo que una “religión que no requiera el sacrificio de todas las cosas nunca tendrá poder suficiente para producir la fe indispensable para la vida y la salvación”

¨Lo difícil nos hace fuertes, nos hace humildes y nos da la oportunidad de probarnos a nosotros mismos. No importa de lo que se trate, lo difícil puede ser bueno para aquellos que avanzarán con fe y confianza en el Señor y en Su plan. ¨

Cuando no aceptamos lo que el Señor nos ha pedido, no estamos el en lado del Señor.  El élder John Pingree dijo, ¨Además, Satanás nos desalienta con sentimientos de ineptitud; hace que nuestro trabajo parezca demasiado difícil o intimidatorio. Sin embargo, ¡podemos confiar en Dios!. Él nos ama. Él desea que tengamos éxito. Él “va delante de [nosotros]; él estará [con nosotros], no [nos] dejará”

Yo se que recibirán bendiciones del Señor por todos sus esfuerzos.  El nos ha bendecido tanto ya.  Pero debemos recordar que ¨Porque de aquel a quien mucho se da, mucho se requiere (DYC 82:3) 

Yo les testifico que pueden hacer todo lo que el Señor les pide hacer.  Nos pide que nos esforzarnos.  Que le servimos con ánimo.  Yo se que podemos hacer todo mediante Jesucristo.  El nos apoyará.  Les dejo éstas palabras en el nombre de Jesucristo, amen.
